Communicating identity/consuming difference

This article provides an editorial introduction to the special issue of Consumption Markets & Culture on “Communication Identity/Consuming Difference.” The issue brings together scholars from a variety of disciplines and approaches to share research about how identities are presented and performed in consumer culture, and why it matters. Together, the papers showcase interdisciplinary perspectives that discuss and theorize how identity is communicated, constructed, and consumed in contemporary and historical consumer culture.     

硚孝高速路超长桥防视觉疲劳人性化设计思考

硚孝高速公路东南起于武汉硚口北、西北止于孝感,是武汉主城区至孝感南区的快速通道。道路总长34.512651km,其中高于地面的桥梁达27.23048km。这种超长高速公路桥极易因景观的单一导致驾驶人员的视觉疲劳,因此,在设计施工上需要考虑如何防止因视觉导致的驾驶疲劳,确保交通安全。本文基于人的生理角度,分别从视觉景观特点、感受差异与听觉提示等三大视角、六个方面对此提出了解决思路。     

The Changes in Demographics and Lifestyles and Their Effects on the Coffee Industry

This paper isolates certain key variables to assess their impact on the coffee industry, and to what extent these variables have been addressed. Although approached in a theoretical framework, this paper delineates the environmental forces that are faced by the coffee industry, and how the negative impact of these forces fo unnoticed or are ignored. The coffee industry has a history of little action taken when highly publicized health studies were published. When the demographics and lifestyles of consumers changed, the industry has been slow to respond. Recently these constricting forces have been addressed, thus providing an area for future research. The study of successes and failures of the beverage industry can help many industries in understanding their marketing approaches.     

Factors influencing visual attention: a meta-analysis

ABSTRACT

The goal of the present study is to conduct the first meta-analysis on the antecedents (top-down and bottom-up factors) and consequences (evaluation factors) of visual attention. In this research, 201 empirical articles were examined, with a total of 781 effect sizes highlighting the visual attention effect on consumption choices. An ordered synthesis of the different types of empirical results involving visual attention in the marketing area was performed. Our research deepens and describes the effects of top-down and bottom-up factors on visual attention, demonstrating the differences between the variables that compose them.     

实时视觉中心技术在低速率视频通信中的应用

文章在对视觉中心技术和视频编码技术进行分析研究的基础上,利用低速率视频编码常采用粗量化的特点,设计并实现了一种快速的实时视觉中心处理算法。该算法将计算复杂度很高的视觉中心处理算法改进为只需简单的查表计算即可完成,从而极大地降低了计算量。实验表明:该方法能提高视频图像的主观质量。     

天然地基和桩基承载力计算的程序实现

确定天然地基和桩基承载力是交通土建工程中的一项重要内容,而实际工程设计计算使用规范方法、通过手算并辅之以简单电算来实现。文章在简述天然地基和桩基承载力规范确定方法的基础上,说明了使用可视化程序设计平台Visual C++进行编制相应应用程序的过程。在建立程序框架基础上,通过菜单、对话框及相应控件的外观可视化设计,改进了地基土各种计算参数的确定方法,编制了相应的消息处理函数,同时制作了应用程序的帮助文件与程序安装版。使用所编可视化程序,不再需要查表,数据输入输出及承载力计算过程均通过可视化界面操作,计算过程简单、实用。文章的两个算例表明,计算结果与实际计算结果非常一致,这说明该方法具有一定的应用和推广价值。
